Plain English

The few words on this screen that come from selling online rather than from the workshop.
Listing / pageThe product page a shopper sees on Amazon or Walmart. One per item.
Saved versionA snapshot of how the page looks today. We save it before changing anything, so we can tell later whether the change helped.
ScoreOut of 10. How our page compares with the rival pages you tick. Low = they are doing something we are not.
Rival listingAnother seller's page for a similar item, shown next to ours on Amazon.
Title / Product nameThe line of text at the top of the page. Amazon calls it the title; Walmart calls it the product name.
Bullets / Key FeaturesThe short lines under the price. Amazon calls them bullets; Walmart calls them Key Features.
Hidden search wordsWords we give Amazon that shoppers never see, but that help our page come up in a search.
Photo descriptionA written description of what is in a photo. Search engines can't see pictures, so they read this instead.
Product detail fieldsThe boxed facts table on the page — metal, size, gem. Filled in from the catalogue.
Worn photoA picture of the item on a person, rather than on a plain white background.
Plated vs solidPlated = a thin gold coating over cheaper metal; it wears off. Solid = gold all the way through. Ours is solid.
ComplianceAmazon and Walmart each have written rules for what a page may say. Break one and the page can be rejected or hidden.

Step 1 · Choose an item

Search, sort, open

Every item we sell, and whether its Amazon and Walmart pages have been saved and updated. Search by SKU or name, click any column heading to sort by it, or use the buttons to show only what needs work. Open an item to read its page as it stands today.

Step 2 · Compare

Tick the rivals you want to be measured against

Our page beside the rival pages Amazon shows next to it. Tick or untick a rival and the score below changes — the comparison is only as fair as the rivals you pick.

Step 3 · Improve

What's there now · what's wrong · what to do

The page as it stands today, read line by line. Every note below comes from comparing this page with the rivals you ticked — then two ways to fix it, both of which score higher than what's live.

Step 4 · Prepare & check the rules

Must pass before it can be sent

Amazon and Walmart each publish rules for what a page may say. Break one and the page gets rejected or quietly hidden. Everything below is checked against those rules automatically, and the wording is prepared three ways — for people typing in the search box, for people searching by photo, and for when an AI assistant answers a question about this product.

Step 5 · Save & send

What the change actually moves, and what it doesn't. Wording can fix words and facts. It cannot take a photograph or change a price — so those stay flagged until someone does them.
